Synopsis: Korak finds a boy named Aarku lying in the jungle, his foot caught in some rocks, with an army of red ants about to reach him. After detouring the ants with a giant palm leaf, he nurses the boy's ankle and listens to his tale. He was part of a safari that was trying to reach the lost city of Isitar. One of the whites was interested solely in archaeology, the other in finding reputed jewels. The latter, Ryker, brutalized the porters and that is when Aarku fled, stumbling over the rocks in the dark. Korak carries the boy on his back to Chief Buto's village, where Buto agrees to show Korak to the site of the city of Isitar. The ruins are surrounded by a shark infested lagoon. Korak and Buto paddle across the lagoon on a log. As they enter the jungle to spy on the safari, they are captured by the blood-thirsty Holeri tribe, who are also interested in the safari. The Holeri leader knows and hates Korak, and decides to torture them to death at the stake. Korak's bull-ape cry brings Tantor to the rescue just in time, and he and Buto escape on the elephant's back. Meanwhile, Ryker has had the porters build a raft in order to locate the jewels, which he now believes are in a sunken boat in the lagoon. After freeing Dr. Browder, Korak swims across the lagoon while the sharks are distracted by Ryker's shooting. One shark is attracted to Korak, however, and he has to slay it with his knife. Ryker is sending divers down with a explosive to open the wreck when Korak climbs onto the raft behind him. The pair tumble off the raft and a fiece underwater fight ensues. Ryker's clothing becomes entangled in the wreckage at the bottom, and when Korak surfaces, he sees the vengeful porters about to set off the charge. They do so and Ryker is blown to bits as the jewels of Isitar spray from the water.

Remarks: Chief Buto is shown with a different, much heavier wife than the young beautiful wife who was duped by N'kulu to poison him in the previous issue.
