Synopsis: Korak scatters a small band of outlaws with his relentless bowshots, when he sees them torturing a young native girl for information about her unusual jewelry. A chance pistol shot as they ride off grazes his head and bowls him over. When he comes to, in the arms of Tleeka, he is blind. She leads him to her own hidden land called Karkan, where she gives him herbs that cause him to fall into a deep sleep for an entire day and night. When the strange priests from outside come to offer human sacrifice in their ancient temple, she wakens him and they flee. Korak has a bad fall, but it knocks his eyesight back. Korak and Tleeka hide from the priests in the strange temple. A huge room is covered with giant spider webbing, and into this chamber the priests lead two Europeans. Korak leaves Tleeka in a safe spot so he can follow to see where they are taking the two prisoners. He locates their cell and tries to pick the locks on their chains, but numerous guards arrive and take them away as Korak hides in the rafters. Korak reaches a window overlooking the large chamber, and sees that now Tleeka has left the safety of her spot and been captured as well. The three prisoners are thrown on the webs to the giant spiders. Korak feathers the gigantic bugs with arrows, killing all but one, which leaps upon the priests and chases them out of the temple. The four meet the returning spider on the way out, but Korak kills it as well.

Remarks: This issue is written in the style of a Conan story, and coincidentally, was on the stands at the same time that Conan #4, Tower of the Elephant, with a similar picture of Conan facing a spider, was on sale. The story emphasizes Korak's uncanny speed and skill with a bow.
